2009 State Election fast facts
  • Enrolment deadline: 5pm on Saturday 28th February 2009
  • Election day: Saturday 21st March 2009
  • Voting is compulsory
  • On election day, polling booths will be arranged at convenient locations throughout Queensland. Polling booth locations will be available following close of rolls. Polling booths will be open from 8am to 6pm.
  • If you can't make it to a polling booth on election day, other options such as postal voting and pre-poll voting are available.
  • Voting instructions are at the top of your ballot paper.

2009 State election

Sunshine Coast Elections is a website dedicated to the 2009 State Government Elections for the Sunshine Coast area.

More than 300 candidates will contest the  Queensland State elections, called by Premier Anna Bligh on February 23rd.

Election day, March 21, will see over 200,000 Sunshine Coast residents called to vote. Click here for polling booth locations.

• Caloundra
• Glasshouse
• Gympie
• Kawana
• Maroochydore
• Nicklin
• Noosa
• Pumicestone

Sunshine Coast Elections is be offered to every Sunshine Coast State election candidate as a way to present themselves to voters online. It's a free service.
