Candidate Profile

My History

I will be a Mayor for the whole Sunshine Coast.

I grew up in Caloundra, I went to school there and I had my first share in the family fruit shop in Bulcock Street. We then expanded to include shops in Maroochydore and Nambour.

I bring that strong business background and work ethic to running council. I have turned Maroochy's finances around, and I will ensure we have a strong economic future here.

We need jobs for our kids. I've been Mayor for 4 years and on council for 7 years before that - so I have experience.

I fought many campaigns for small business, and I will fight for your rights too.

I've seen this place grow, and I know that together we'll deliver a vibrant future.

My Objectives

This is my pledge to you: I will be a Mayor for the entire Sunshine Coast - because together we'll deliver.

I will keep all of our communities unique, while developing a strong economy - we need jobs for our kids.

I'll work hard to make the Sunshine Coast an affordable place to live, so you won't need to spend half your income on rent.

And, we need safe streets - I'll work with the police, community, church and youth groups to find solutions.

The environment is important to me too - I'll ensure it's managed and protected.

I've lived on the Sunshine Coast for 38 years - I was raised here and now I'm raising my own children here.

I'm committed to keeping it the beautiful place we all love, preserving our lifestyle, while providing the leadership we need for a prosperous future.
