2009 State Election fast facts
  • Enrolment deadline: 5pm on Saturday 28th February 2009
  • Election day: Saturday 21st March 2009
  • Voting is compulsory
  • On election day, polling booths will be arranged at convenient locations throughout Queensland. Polling booth locations will be available following close of rolls. Polling booths will be open from 8am to 6pm.
  • If you can't make it to a polling booth on election day, other options such as postal voting and pre-poll voting are available.
  • Voting instructions are at the top of your ballot paper.

Candidate Profile Deborah Taylor

My History

I worked in Real Estate for 7 years, in Maleny and Caloundra.

My husband and I moved here from Brisbane 13 years ago opening a Paint and Decorator store in Maleny and one in Caloundra – both stores are there today.

My previous background is in mining, industrial and engineering. I owned a Mining/Industrial supply company in Brisbane.

I travelled across Queensland, Northern Territory and Northern N.S.W. calling on mining, industrial and hardware outlets.

My Objectives

  • Encourage and foster low impact environmentaly friendly manufacturing to our region
  • Investigating and formulating a process to fight the erosion in the Pumicestone Passage - NOW
  • Encourage business to create more job opportunities for our youth.
  • Fast track an efficient and cost effective transport network.
  • Keep the "local" in local government and protect our family atmosphere.
  • Achieve effective community consultation by working closely with all community groups, business organisations and interested parties
