Three People I'd like to have to Dinner - and Why

  1. Anna Bligh - there is so much she needs to learn about how to manage water and the world first environmentally sustainable initiatives in our local growth management strategy which she hasn't signed off on.
  2. Bill Gates- there are som many projects he could help fund here on the Sunshine Coast that need big dollars and a charitable mind.
  3. Lee Kernaghan- I'd love him to come and have a barbie at my place and play some music around a campfire.

The Last Book I Read was...

I don't have time to read a book as most of my reading is council reports, council agendas, lifestyle magazines and urban design and environmental publications.

The Last Music I Bought or
Listened to was...

Music I listen to is mostly from the 70's and 80's . I love the Beachboys, the Rolling Stones, Bily Joel, Cat Stevens, Skyhooks, Grease, I hate to admit it but I like Abba music as well. I also like Neil Diamond, folk music, some country and definitely Irish.

My Interests
(outside of this election)

I am writing a book about Ulcerative Colitis to help people find out more about what the might go through or their friends and family might experience.

I love beach fishing, 4WDing, trips to Fraser Island, Double Island and anywhere you can camp by the water and have a campfire.

I love the surf, swimming and a game of golf about twice a year.

My History

I have 20 years experience as a Councillor with the Caloundra City, from 1985 – 94 and 1997 to now. I have served as Deputy Mayor.

I was active in the introduction of the Kawana Waters Master Plan (including the Kawana Development Control Plan) and the Local Growth Management Plan which has raised the bar in relation to our fragile environment.

I have initiated many policies which protect the environment and rehabilitate large scale areas of open space, as well as initiated a world-first in planning a sustainable water supply for future growth that will not draw on existing water storage.

I've represented the Local Government Association of Queensland on

• Clean Seas State Assessment Panel
• Coast Care State Assessment Panel
